Have lived all my life on the island and film does justice partly to the area, you have to see it to believe it especially the sunsets anyone thinking of visiting the area wont be dissapointed.

Patrick commits suicide in the end cause his body was taken over by the ghost of Angus. The whole end scene was a reenactment of the day when Angus walked in on his wife and another man which caused him to kill both of them and then kill himself. Very emotional

SPOILER. I think that on the balcony there was Patrick because he looked on Rachel like he wanted to apologize and he gave her their shell. But why he had to commit a suicide? Too much guilt or Angus forced him to do it? Because you can hear some voices in his (Patrick) head just before he jumps. Tragic love but your video is absolutely beautiful. So tender and almost magical. Thanks for sharing.

Actually this was how I imagined it, but my friend who I watched it with disagreed too much, so I concluded it must have been something else…..I feel a lot better now!! I might even watch it again, though I had a sleepless nigh on New Year`s day because of watching it

When Patrick went back to the island he was possessed by the spirit of the real Angus. This is when he kills Rachel’s husband in the way he killed someone when he was alive. Then the scene on the balcony with Patrick and Rachel can be debated… some say he is still possessed by Angus but some will say it’s Patrick.

Bascially her husband and best friend hired a man (Patrick) to pretend to be Angus the lighthouse keeper (who died 7 years earlier). Rachel and Patrick fell in love (Something Patrcik didn’t plan on) then after he left Rachel’s husband and best friend knew she would start to loose the plot and then they planned on killing her but making it look like she killed herself. This leaving money for her husband and best friend (from Rachels book which she was writing).

But finally, could someone explain this film to me? After I learnt that her husband and best friend wanted the kill her and they decided to make this ghost story for her, I just lost the plot…..
