We didn’t need a new Kate Bush album. Had she retired after 1993’s The Red Shoes, the immaculate back catalogue she’d have left behind would’ve kept us all in wonder and amazement for the rest of our lives. But we’ve got a new Kate Bush album. And you’d be forgiven for expecting it to be but a shadow of her former work. And yet, against all probability, 50 Words For Snow is the most inspired, unique and beautiful album of the year.
