City, SPCA reach agreement over animal control services

NEW ORLEANS — The city of New Orleans and the SPCA have reached an agreement over animal control services, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced Tuesday. The terms cover from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2014 at a cost of $160,000 per month, or $1.92 million annually, for full animal control services. Truly heartbreaking stuff.
