Last nights Laureus World Sport Awards had quite possibly the largest list of people we’ve ever had to put in an article. Just take a look at it. It’s huge. Admittedly, aside from Bear Grylls, Tony Hawk, Clive Owen, Dermot O’Leary and Chris Hems…oh, actually they’re all pretty famous.

We had a look through the list of nominations for this year’s NME awards and we were most impressed by the fact they’ve managed to add five new awards. That and the fact that Rekorderlig are sponsoring one of the awards (for those who don’t know, Rekorderlig is cider that tastes like rainbows and costs only slightly more than a small mortgage).

Directors are those people who make actors stand around for unnecessarily long hours in the cold while they look moody wearing fleece jackets and baseball caps – they don’t deserve a fancy award parties, no one wants to see them on the red carpet. Ah, but it’s okay because some ACTORS turned up at the Director Guild of America Awards too and everyone likes looking at them. The stupid directors think it’s because they’re being supportive, but really it’s because the actors want to be directors themselves – look at Jennifer Aniston – smiling away whilst secretly plotting a future of wearing fleeces and snapping a clapper board…

It was the 13th annual NRJ awards, in Cannes this weekend. Adele won some things. And some people who weren’t. Hilariously, Mika won International Male Artist of the Year. Mika! Europeans are funny. The talk on the Internet is that Female Artist of the Year Shy’m might have a nicer face to look at than Shakira, who was given the NRJ Award of Honor, alongside Justin Bieber (i.e. the Thanks For Turning Up award). Hmm. We’ll be the judge of that.

We’ve been pondering this all day and have finally decided to award Rose Byrne the much coveted Holy Moly Best Dressed at the SAG Awards Award (catchy title). Not only did the Aussie actress have a very shiny bob (said to have been inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface meets Anna Wintour), but she made the bold move of wearing a jumpsuit. A white jumpsuit too. She must have a strong bladder and a steady hand when holding wine. Our hero. Elie Saab always pulls it out.
