Badger king, astronomer and Queen guitarist Brian May has launched what the tabloids would call a stinging attack on the BBC singing talent show The Voice. Writing on his blog, Brian calls The Voice “the dullest, dumbest, most depressing programme on TV.” We think C5 should buy the rights to the next series and use that as the strapline.

Remember The Office Christmas special where David Brent goes around dingy nightclubs doing PAs to disappointed crowds? That is now also former Westlife member Brian McFadden’s life too. He was at the Glasgow University Union on Friday (May 17th) for a ‘DJ Set’. And after he’d wrapped that up, he obviously couldn’t resist a go on the karaoke next door either. The end results are seriously tragic. But mainly hilarious.

The Beach Boys are in Britain. All surviving members of the other greatest pop group there ever was are in Britain, right now. Well, they’re in London which, if you come from somewhere as enormous as California, might as well be Britain. But on Friday they will play their last show together, before Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks are out on their ear, and Mike Love and Bruce Johnston will carry on with the unsatisfactory approximation of the Beach Boys they’ve been pedaling (and protecting with legal ferocity) since 1998.
