 On a scale of things we care about, who Cheryl Cole is dating ranks quite low. We’d just like her to be happy. But we are genuinely surprised at the news that her and that dancer fella Derek Hough really were an item. Even with all the pap shots of him leaving her hotel room in the early hours, we just thought they were special friends. That he was a shoulder to cry on and she was, well, someone to stop family members asking awkward questions. Which just goes to show one should never assume (because people will say that thing about it making an ass out of u & me in a voice that indicates they clearly think they’re being Oscar fucking Wilde).

Cheryl Cole has just been shot in the bath by Rankin, which sounds like it could be the start of an ITV crime drama but is actually a campaign for L’Oreal. ‘Eee pet, aint nowt gonna remove me lippie like’.
