All it took was Ant & Dec performing it one more time on Saturday Night Takeaway. It’s a beautiful thing. As was this episode of their sitcom Chums when Ant’s eyes were tragically stuck wide open.

Warcraft, the game series that spawned the infamous World of Warcraft, is to be made into a film. This would usually be reason enough never ever watch it, ever, however one of the nice things about the computer game industry is that the companies at the top are totally loaded. Which means they can afford to get decent people involved, like director Duncan Jones, the man who brought us the excellent Moon and the kind of excellent Source Code AND WHO WAS MADE FROM DAVID BOWIE’S TESTICLES.

Originally slated to be directed by Spiderman 3′s Sam Raimi, the film has an estimated budget of $100 million dollars, which should be able to buy Jones all the CGI orcs and female elves wearing revealing armour he could ever want. The script is being written by Blood Diamond and K-Pax screenwriter Charles Leavitt, so it’s sure to be a fairly serious film. Which is great if you’ve ever wondered about the Goblin Extreme Right or Gnome Liberation Front.

Naturally, everyone’s a bit worried that it’s going to be awful, because almost all films based on games (which are usually based on films) are. Having said that, Michael Fassbender is currently attached to the upcoming Assassins’ Creed adaptation, so perhaps Hollywood has finally decided that it’s not just comic books that can be made into decent movies.

Still, World of Warcraft? Ha.

Anyone who saw the episode of Dragon’s Den where Duncan Bannatyne bought 79 per cent of a new record label (who’d signed some ropey boyband from Britain’s Got Talent) will have been waiting impatiently to see what the Scottish ice-cream-based millionaire does with his investment. And that moment is finally here: he’s appearing in the video by the ropey boyband from Britain’s Got Talent. Well done everyone.
