The MTV EMAs, or European Music Awards, is an utterly pointless awards ceremony. Every year the nominations are almost entirely occupied with US artists, (some of whom we haven’t even heard of this side the Atlantic) and then the event is sold to us as if the only reason it’s even taking place is because we’ve been begging for it, offering to sell our family members just to see Katy Perry accept an award in Zeebrugge.
