Despite the klaxon sounding to warn us that Justin Bieber was loose, several recognisable film, television and music personalities took to the capital’s pavements to be photographed looking a bit knackered. Jude Law in particular was looking a bit like a Mitchell brother who’d stayed up all night crying about a murder. The lovely Josh Groban’s smiling face made it ok. As did Myleene Klass’s bag.

Fearne Cotton has new baby, ironically names him after famous picture agency

Every weekday, almost without exception, we used put up a picture of Fearne Cotton going to work at BBC Radio 1. We didn’t do it because we had to, or because anyone wanted to look at them, but because it was just the way we were taught to do things by our fathers and our father’s fathers. The Fearning, as it was called, was a tradition that went back many generations, some say it’s been going on for as long as the camera has been around.
But then last year suddenly everything changed. Fearne Cotton found herself with child and we all knew it was only a matter of time until she’d have to go on “maternity leave”, and prepared ourselves for the worst, gathering all the pictures we could of Fearne together and stockpiling them on so called ‘external hard drives’. Then, on Chistmas eve last year, it happened. Fearne left work and didn’t come back.
For months we worried about Fearne, hoping she would give us a glimpse of her oversized glasses or felt coat, but nothing. Until this morning that is, when it was announced that she had given birth to a baby boy.
Oh, the baby’s name?
Rex.

She never forgot us.

Anyway, it turns out LA gets a whole other class of celeb when they open a branch of the affordable fashion outlet. The Topshop Topman LA Opening Party at Cecconi’s West Hollywood saw the likes of Kate Bosworth, Julianne Hough, Nicole Scherzinger, Katherine Jenkins, Latoya Jackson, Kim Kardashian, Lionel Richie, Solange Knowles and Chris fucking Brown turn up in the hope of some free skinny jeans.
