Looper is about a man (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who works for the mob in the year 2042, killing people from the year 2072. That is until he meets…wait for it… HIS FUTURE SELF, played by Bruce Willis. The trailer above looks impressive and, aside from Levitt’s slightly suspect makeup, it’s got the hallmarks of a decent sci-fi film, unlike last year’s In Time, which looked kind of similar, promising so much and falling sadly short.

The Turner Classic Movies film festival kicked off in LA yesterday with a showing of Cabaret, a film in which, if you watch very carefully, you can actually see Liza Minelli preparing to ruin Arthur only nine short years later.
