Sad news for any of our American and Canadian readers who also share a weakness for Lady Gaga (all four of you) because the P-p-p-p-p-pokemon singer has been forced to cancel the rest of her current live tour of both America and Canada after injuring herself so badly that the only thing able to heal her is a spot of medical surgery.

A statement about Gaga’s condition by her promoters was posted up somewere on the internet AND LOOK, WE FOUND IT. Here it is:

“Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been cancelled. After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.“

Lady Gaga also posted the following apology to her fans, who upon hearing the news will more than likely be trying their level best to cry themselves into a coma until she recovers:

“I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for some time now. Over the past month it has worsened. I’ve been praying it would heal… I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last night’s performance I could not walk and still can’t. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and I’m sorry.”

As mentioned above, the surgery will be based on and around her hips, as some of the finest doctors attempt to repair a labral tear and possibly correct the few lies that may have crept in during promotion for her the last album.

For those of you worried about exactly what that means, simply watch the below video to help put yourselves at ease. Try not to focus on his eyes though. Made us feel a bit seasick.

Gerard Butler has now made so many rom coms it’s hard to see him as anything other than that-man-you-see-every-day-who-you-may-not-have-noticed-but-he’s-noticed-you. Even with his time with the Spartans and a brief stint as a terrorist, the hardest thing about him is believing his American accent (OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH SSSNNNAAAAAAPPPPP!!!!!!). Ex-special forces? What did you do to your targets Gerard, cry them to death?

Which is probably why they brought Morgan Freeman into Olympus Has Fallen. He’s got a track record of solving crimes, making hard decisions, and being both God and The President, and is much more likely to be able to cope with a gunship opening fire on the Whitehouse than a man who openly weeps while watching his kids play sport.

In terms of ways to spend huge amounts of money on something just to make it worse, 3D versions of films are up there with hiring Tulisa and Nicole Slazenger for X Factor and birthday presents from divorcee dads.

JJ Abrams agrees (with some of the metaphor), and unusually, was not only more than happy to mention his thoughts to SFX, but he did it while trying to promote the new Star Trek. Which is in 3D.
