It’s difficult to get Liam Gallagher to comment on anything other than how fantastic he is (don’t forget, he once voted himself his own style icon) and how awful his brother Noel is, and he only usually only does either of those when he’s trying to promote something. And yet last weekend’s performance at a Teenage Cancer Trust gig in which Noel played Blur’s tender along with Damon Albarn seemed to really strike a chord with him:

“Don’t know what’s worse RKID sipping champagne with a war criminal or them backing vocals you’ve just done for BLUE!

Noel meanwhile thought it was actually quite a seminal piece of live music:

“I think it’s great for music fans. It’s like when you hear about John Lennon playing with Eric Clapton or…well I don’t know what the equivalent is. It won’t change anybody’s life but people could say they were there.”

Because John Mayer is a Professional Boyfriend, his dating service can only last so long, which means, alas, him and Katy Perry are no longer. We wonder where he’ll be helping out next? We hear Rosario Dawson is newly single and ready to mingle… Or perhaps it’ll be Katie Holmes? Oooh, we like that one.

But anyway, John and Katy – the couple no one called Kohn or Merry – started seeing each other last summer, and the singer-type even said in an interview:

“I don’t feel like I’m in a celebrity relationship. I don’t feel it for the first time of my life… I really don’t. I’m not even in a high-profile (relationship)… I know it’s high-profile, but it’s hard to explain. It doesn’t feel that way to me and it’s great and I’m glad…”

However, a source has just told Us Weekly:

“It’s sad… It’s not over until it’s over. You have to see how things play out. (Perry)’s leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work.”
