What Celebrities Are Doing

Well that’s it then. No more Amy Pond in Doctor Who. Or Rory. We cried, even though it made absolutely no sense. How does their death now being a fixed point stop the Doctor from visiting them? It doesn’t. They had to put Rose in an alternate universe to keep them apart (and even then he still went and said goodbye to an earlier her). In our armchair-scriptwriter opinion, they needed an extra scene where The Doctor visits the Ponds and realises they’re happy (even though they’re in the past) and decides not to mess with their lives again. Which would’ve been consistent, and not stupid nonsense. And still would’ve made us cry.

We didn’t film this. The court order doesn’t let us anywhere near these people. But since it’s the London premiere of the first episode of series 7 of Doctor Who tonight (are you going? We’re going. Are you not going?) we thought we’d share this funny  video that some Americans have made, where they interview the cast and crew about the show and all the new things that are going to happen, and everyone is very charming and amusing. And Karen Gillan sounds like she’s about to burst every time she speaks.

We must confess that we didn’t totally know what Comic-Con was. We knew it happened, but it seemed like something that was none of our business, chiefly because we don’t love comics enough to spec a weekend in a conference centre with people dressed as Sailor Uranus. But we’re starting to think it probably is our sort of thing after all, given that everyone doing anything exciting in film or TV seems to have chosen the 43^rd Comic-Con International, in San Diego to preview all their amazing new things. And because Karen Gillan, Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill were there looking hot.
