We can’t put our finger on it (quiet at the back!) but something about the cover of this week’s Radio Times makes us feel strangely compelled to actually buy it. This odd compulsion comes on exactly the same day we’ve learned that Karen Gillan may be single, having possibly broken up with her boyfriend of six years, Patrick Green. *straightens tie*

Yes, yes. We know that BBC4’s We’ll Take Manhattan is a drama about the early career of fashion photographer David Bailey and his relationship with model superstar Jean “The Shrimp” Shrimpton. But in our minds it’s an episode of Doctor Who where Amy Pond goes back in time to 60s London and has her picture taken.

To celebrate the fact that it’s Karen Gillan’s 24th birthday today, we thought we’d stare at some photos of the actress looking nice in a selection of dresses. Also, we’ve only just realised that her name sounds like ‘Karen Millen’, whose dresses she probably wouldn’t wear because they’re a bit boring and office-y and she’s cooler than that. We think Karen’s Erdem two-piece (pic 2) is our favourite outfit, although we still love her Doctor Who bumble-bee jumper. That is all, Karen Gillian wearing dresses on her birthday. No need for anything else.

What were you doing last night? We were all finishing off our screenplays in a local coffee shop. One of them is about a boy who watches his very rich parents being killed in front of him by a mugger as they come out of the theatre, but who then grows up to become a recluse in his huge mansion, terrified that he’ll die the same way. We’re going to call it Scaredy Catman. HA HA. BOOM. FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR.

Following last week’s booby Tuesday, yesterday evening was a somewhat more civilised affair. Even Jaime Winstone was keeping her nipples under wraps, while Britney was in a roll-neck, Pixie Geldof wore a nice fluffy jumper, Sadie Frost appeared sober and… oh, hang on – Nancy Dell’Olio flashed her knickers. Good old Nancy – you know what they say; when you’re bored of London pap shots, you’re bored of z-list life. Never.
