W.E premiere, Madonna says she’s hoping to be ‘swept away by knight in shining armour’

It was the premiere of Madonna’s W.E in London last night and it went somewhat better than last year’s London Film Festival launch when fans booed because the singer-turned-director didn’t want to hang around and say hello to their mate Maureen via their handset or sign any bus tickets. She learnt her lesson though, don’t worry. See, Madge – mingling isn’t so bad – especially if you’re wearing gloves so don’t have to touch any grubby Sharpies.

Dark Knight Rises hi-res pictures: Batman and Bane both looking, well, erm, detailed

These pictures are from Empire back in November, although this is the first time they’ve been released as high res, which is nice for both avid fans and those with weak eyes. In them we can see that at some point in the film Batman will be wield a large bug zapper and Bane will get dusty. Talk about spoilers. Also, there’s a picture of Christopher Nolan for those of you who want to see the man behind the camera.

Film critics get to see the first seven minutes of The Dark Knight Rises, are impressed

Last night over in LA, Christopher Nolan gave a select group of US journalists a look at the seven minute prologue for Dark Knight Rises. Unsurprisingly, they were not disappointed. The only problem that kept cropping up in the various reviews was that of Bane’s voice, which many said they couldn’t hear properly due to Hardy’s English accent and a mask muffling whatever cockerney consonants did make it out. Sounds like a completely legitimate reason.
