Here’s Vanity Fair annual song and dance over the new crop of Hollywood talent. The good news is that following on from the BAFTA’s all male Rising Star Award nominee list, the shoot is ALL WOMAN. However, the woman who are arguably the year’s most promising newcomers – Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, who are both cleaning up this award season for their respective roles as black maids in The Help (excuse the pun) – are missing. We wonder why?

What a jolly man Valentino must be, to have painted his face up simply to make children laugh. We wish our grandad was like that, instead of being dead. Bummer. Still, to level things out we’ve also got pictures of the Olsens, who honestly (and we’re being super honest here) look like at any moment they’re going to shed their skin and reveal two 8 foot demons made entirely of teeth. Did you know there was a third Olsen sister? One who wasn’t present in the womb at the same time as the other two, but was in fact born a couple of years later. Her name is Elizabeth. She looks almost exactly halfway between the original Olsens and Ellen Page. Fascinating eh? Unfortunately, she has nothing to do with these pictures, so we’ll have to move onto Elton’s shoes instead.
