Many of you will have spent most of last night explaining to everyone on your Twitter and Facebook timelines that, while very funny, the supposed tweet exchange between ace-faced cycling superhero Bradley Wiggins and arse-faced blowhard Piers Morgan was not quite as it seemed, and the quick-witted slapdown the slimy ex-newspaper chump received was actually composed by a normal man who has, as far as we know, never won any medals for going fast on a bike. However, Piers is now saying that anyone who believed the made-up thing is an idiot. Let’s see how long it takes him to realise the irony of that suggestion… it might be a while.

Atlantic Beach, NC — Two piers along North Carolina’s southern Outer Banks have been damaged in Hurricane Irene. Emerald Isle town manager Frank Rush says the end of Bogue Inlet Pier collapsed. In addition, part of the pier behind the Sheraton Hotel in Atlantic Beach has collapsed.
