Whatever you think of the Russell Brand/Katy Perry saga and the fact that they possibly married a little too quickly and then started resembling one another, they’ve always seemed like a decent-ish pair compared to the Katie Prices/Peter Andres of the world. More to the point, it’s sort of obvious that the reason they split was because they didn’t have much common nor see each other very often (if we were going speculate, we’d probably say THIS was the straw that broke the camel’s back). Brand’s split announcement seemed fairly heartfelt, so it’s a bit of a shame – albeit not very surprising, that the tabloid stories are now being wrung tighter than his trousers…

Now that Raf Simons looks like the most likely contender for the top job at Dior, Marc Jacobs has spoken out to say, actually, he wasn’t interested in the position at all – quite eloquently really. Oh, and he also adds that he won’t be spending his Christmas with his family because, well, he doesn’t love them. Reason enough. Don’t feel too sad for him, though, because he might be getting a served a rather massive portion of meat courtesy of his rumoured new porn star boyfriend instead.

Has anyone been following the so-called phone hacking ‘scandal’ recently? No, us neither. Seems to be something to do with the government bullying an old man about his inability to set up email on his computer. The only thing scandalous about it is how the police wouldn’t let the NOTW find that poor murdered schoolgirl on their own. They helped Sarah Payne, didn’t they? Poor old Rebekah Wade. This particular story has put us in a bit of a bind. After all, we love pornography, albeit only if it’s artistically done, like when it’s filmed in the back of a bus, or in on a casting couch, but when it’s a member of the royal family appearing buck naked, wilding thrashing about with some tax-paying commoner? Too many emotions to deal with at once. Shame, arousal, anger, fear, hopelessness, curiosity and possibly even confusion (depending on the camerawork). A bit like Baking Made Easy actually.
