Day one at Reading & Leeds didn’t do much to excite us. Pete Doherty returned to the festival scene after a short getaway to Wormwood Scrubs, Elbow made us insanely jealous and My Chemical Romance, well, didn’t. So what did day two have to offer? Quite a lot, as a matter of fact. We’ve got Pulp, The Strokes, Pulp AND The Strokes, Liam Gallagher with Beady Eye and lots, lots, lots more (including more My Chemical Romance).

Unlike V Festival this time last week, the members of N-Dubz and The Only Way Is Essex were nowhere to be seen on the first day of Reading and Leeds on Friday. Which is a shame, because we’re sure they would have fitted right in with the swamps of mud and scores of teenage boys rocking their ungroomed, sweaty hair back and forth to My Chemical Romance and Muse. But, sadly, there was no sign of Lauren Goodger and co, and we had to make do with Mike Skinner and Pete Doherty instead.
