It’s a good day and a bad day for fans of Steven Patrick Morrissey. It looks like the misanthropic iconoclast has hung up his gladioli for good, following a string of illnesses. But on the plus side, someone has unearthed a 39min tape of The Smiths rehearsing songs intended for their first album (the rejected version recorded by Troy Tate). So that’s exciting. The Moz news not so, despite our feelings about some of his outbursts.
