It’s that time of the week when we try to remember who’s been out and about wearing interesting outfits but then get distracted by some pictures of cats (they’ve become a red carpet staple – true fact) before Diane Kruger comes along to remind us of the job in hand.

So, here’s the week in fashion. Kruger’s there (twice), obviously – but we also have a special treat in the form of Sally Draper and some of her Mad Men pals. Exciting. Good to see Tilda Swinton back too, eh? Yes it is.

While they’re not all brand spanking new, we thought you might want to know what games we here at the Holy Moly offices have been playing on our mobile phones this week. There’s no overarching theme to them, except for our inability to actually do work. Naturally for any PRs who tried to call us recently, sorry, we genuinely were very busy.

Hell Yeah! Pocket Inferno – iOS

A perfectly decent side scrolling shoot-em up with the usual assortment of upgrades and quirky enemies, that we mostly play it because the music irritates the office next to us. That’s a reason, right?

Mini Ninjas – iOS

Another side scroller, except this time you play the role of a ninja who has to kump over obstacles and slash enemies with his sword to progress through the levels. Slow and a little dull to start, it’s strangely addictive.

Sonic Dash – iOS

Remember the levels in the old Sonic games that had him running forward while you moved him from side to side, avoiding baddies and picking up rings, a la Temple Run? Well here you go, Sonic Dash is an entire game of exactly that, except it’s endless, a bit like Temple Run, albeit much harder. Only thing wrong here is that to get anything other than the basic game will cost you in in-app purchases. A lot.

Ridiculous Fishing – iOS

You play a fisherman trying to get your line as deep into the ocean as possible. Then, when you do accidentally hit a fish you then reel your line in and try to catch as many on the way back up as possible, at which point they are flung into the air and you shoot them with a shotgun to gain money to buy upgrades.

One of the best games we’ve played on mobile since Pixel People came out. Genuinely amazing. This week’s pick for sure…

According to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goopy newsletter, this is the week to archive all your winter clothes and break out your ‘spring’ ones. Thanks for that, Gwynnie – it’s been -3 and we don’t all have a woodburning oven to keep us warm. Anyway, this might explain some of the confusion we’ve seen on the red carpet… Blake Lively was wearing a Marios Schwab PVC bib, Anna Kendrick looked like a cross between Jackie O and Jimmy Krankie (although we were mostly put off by the fact that she was doing the ‘Angelina leg’ in a pair of shorts), Alessando Ambrosio appeared to have a nappy and Kim Kardashian ‘poured’ her pregnancy curve into a very tight and uncomfortable looking pencil skirt. Ouch. Also, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens are only young, right? Why the gowns? And why cheap looking gowns at that?

Moving swiftly on to the fashion moments we did like, though; Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde scored the week’s stand out moments in monochrome, with the former in Lanvin and latter in D&G. Kirsten Dunsten get a special award for always being faithful to Proenza Schouler and making them proud of it too. Katie Holmes gets the ‘We’re Going To Give You A Big Thumbs Up Just Because The Daily Mail Dissed This Outfit (What Do They Know) Award in Dolce & Gabbana. Finally, big shout out to Kate Moss, who got into the spirit of Red Nose Day’s ‘wear your PJs to work’ day earlier by going out in a nightie on Monday (it was actually Louis Vuitton).

A fairly low-key fashion round-up this week, as most of the fashionistas of Hollywood are having a nice quiet week after the Oscars. Of course, there were loads and loads of lovely dresses at the Oscars, but the world doesn’t stop turning just because a bunch of talented people throw on tuxedoes and ballgowns, does it?
