BritWeek was thought up by a bunch of ex-pats in California in an attempt to promote the UK in America back after the rift caused by the War of Independence in the late 18th century. As you can see from the above gallery though, what it actually does is give Samantha Mumba and Nigel Lythgoe a reason to leave the house and old James Bond actors a chance to meet people who’ll ask them if they are old James Bond actors.

You’ll notice there aren’t any genuineley famous Brits in any of the above pictures, because…well…actually we have no idea. Maybe Freddie Windsor drove them away with his incredibly creepy demeanor.

Remember the olden days, when mobile phones weren’t touchscreen, you could barely order takeout online and Lindsay Lohan was schtupping Mark Ronson’s little sister Samantha Ronson.
