What Celebrities Are Doing

We’ve yet to make up our mind about Lucy Rose yet. She’s currently in the box marked ‘We probably like this’. Helping her case is this video for new single Red Face which features the occasional Bombay Bicycle Club singer hitting some drums in a field. It also features lots of home movies of Lucy as a child from which we can conclude she was once in a school production of Oliver, like we were, went on lots of beach holidays, like we did, and at one time lived in a mansion, which we most definitely did not. There are no home movies of our childhood.

We’ve always had a lot of time for Diana Vickers, ever since she told us she thought Lady Gaga probably smelt musty and that crabs walked sideways because they’re stupid. Well Diana is in the process of “coming back” and, having given away a couple of downloads at the end of last year, she’s just shoved another bit of new material online, the very electro Boy In Paris.

We heard Huey play this on 6 Music at the weekend and immediately rushed to the Internet to see what it could tell us. And what the Internet told us is that Emma Russack is from Narooma, New South Wales, used to sing with a band called Lola Flash, and caused a bit of a stir singing cover versions on YouTube (as is often the way nowadays). Interestingly that account has now been deleted so we guess Emma feels the cover version period of her career is over. We’re fine with that.

This isn’t all that new (although it is quite new) and it’s not an exclusive, or something a PR has asked us to put up in return for some Nandos Chicken Cheques. We just really, really like it.
