We heard Huey play this on 6 Music at the weekend and immediately rushed to the Internet to see what it could tell us. And what the Internet told us is that Emma Russack is from Narooma, New South Wales, used to sing with a band called Lola Flash, and caused a bit of a stir singing cover versions on YouTube (as is often the way nowadays). Interestingly that account has now been deleted so we guess Emma feels the cover version period of her career is over. We’re fine with that.

Over in New York, the Occupy Wall Street protests have been blessed by the presence of the 92-year-old first gentleman of protest song Pete Seeger, who led marchers in a sing-song. When his half-sister, the matriarch of the folk revival Peggy Seeger, heard about this she wanted to do the same in London. And so she did, yesterday (Nov 9). With the help of Billy Bragg, Chumbawamba, Tony Benn, Leon Rosselson, Steve Knightley and, most unexpectedly, Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine.
