The first Expendables film was a little bit of a disappointment. Not because it wasn’t exactly what we were expecting, but because it wasn’t much better than we were expecting. Hopefully Expendables 2 is going to rectify that, although we have got a few doubts.

We’ve basically become Ridley Scott’s mouthpiece, he sticks his hand up our arses and makes the words come out of our mouths that he wants to hear. Oh, how far we have fallen. Like Tim Burton, Judd Apatow enjoys casting his wife in his films. It’s quite nice really, although it probably limits the dinner table talk (“nice day at work, darling?” “Yeah, you were there – I made out with Paul Rudd”) and makes the script very smug and knowing – especially when their cute kids also star in the film.

How has HBO even got room in their schedules for another show about people who think they’re smart? Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom doesn’t start till June, so something will have finished by then, probably Veep. So that’s probably how. Here’s another trailer of the West Wing/Social Network fella’s new thing. So far it seems like all the moralising bits of the former, with all the intelligent people looking witheringly at dumb people bits of the latter. Whereas Veep has people saying fuck. And Girls has people talking about their vaginas. And Game of Thrones has a ruddy big wall and a dwarf. Will some people sitting in chairs saying stuff be enough?

Courtesy of this ‘leaked’ trailer for Rayman Legends, we’ve now got a much better idea of what the graphics on Nintendo’s Wii U are going to be like, as well as some of the extra capabilities they haven’t released info about yet, including the ability to use the controller to interract with real world object that affect things in game. It’s just over a month to E3, where we’ll get a much better look at exactly what the console’s like, but until then you’ll have to make do wit hthis. We’re sure it’s got nothing to do with Nintendo’s recent financial troubles..
